If you would rather enjoy the peaceful waves of the Gulf Coast, then you can head west to either St Petersburg Beach or Sarasota. If you do not mind driving a little further there is Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, and Capriva all of which are great for shell collectors.

If you do not really know where to go in Orlando, you will be stuck eating in chain restuarants that are overcrowded and extremely busy. If you know where to look however, you will find some really good places to eat that are not that crowded. Some of these will require a drive but at least you will not have to wait an hour for a table at a marginal restaurant.

Because of the theme parks, Orlando has many different resorts geared to making you holidays to Orlando as wonderful as possible. Disney has many different resorts tailored to all types of budgets and interests. You will also find some other great resorts that are not owned by Disney but are just as good.

It is surprising that as big as Orlando is, they only have one major sports team which is the Orlando Magic. However this does not mean that you will not find some fun sporting events to go to while visiting Orlando. Tampa Bay has the Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL Football team and also the Tampa Bay Rays Major League Baseball Team. A few hours to the north, Jacksonville has the Jaguars NFL football team.
